Over 2 million people in the UK live with crushing loneliness. Here in South Gloucestershire, more than 200 older people are waiting for someone to visit through Age UK South Gloucestershire’s befriending scheme. One hour a week. One friendly face. One conversation that could mean everything. Give your time, share a listening ear, and help someone feel seen again.
We urgently need befrienders, but there are plenty of other ways to volunteer too, from supporting digital cafés, local walks and Day Centres to helping at fundraising events. Every role is fully supported, training is provided, and no previous experience is needed, just your time and enthusiasm.
Come and see us on Friday 13th February in reception to find out more information and start your volunteering journey.
